ACS Research Data Policy
ACS Publications portfolio of journals offer the highest levels of rigor in the review and publication of scientific articles and research data. To assist authors to understand what our principles around data availability are and why data should be made available, we have developed an ACS Research Data Policy.
Ethical Guidelines and Prior Publication
ACS editors have provided Ethical Guidelines for persons engaged in the publication of chemical research—specifically, for editors, authors, and reviewers. Each journal also has a specific policy on prior publication.
ACS Publications Name Change Policy
ACS Publications recognizes that authors may change their names for many reasons and that there may be sensitivities surrounding the change. To reduce or remove any barriers to inclusion, professional mobility, and author credit, we offer authors two options to update their name on prior publications.
ACS AuthorChoice program
ACS AuthorChoice program offers authors a range of options to facilitate unrestricted web access to their published ACS articles for a one-time fixed payment. ACS members or authors from subscribing institutions receive significant discounts.
Open Access Compliance
ACS offers options by which authors can fulfill the requirements of manuscript deposit for research funded by the National Institutes of Health, the Wellcome Trust, and the Austrian Science Fund.

ACS Articles on Request
